Judith has been involved with ceramics as a maker, teacher and exhibitor for over 30 years. Initially trained as a teacher of fine art, including drawing painting and jewellery fabrication, as well as ceramics, Judith chose to focus on ceramics. For many years, Judith offered a comprehensive workshop program in western style Raku firing techniques, while also teaching and coordinating the ceramics course at Chisholm TAFE Dandenong, until the closure of the department in 2014.
Recently Judith returned to study, completing her MFA at RMIT using clay as a medium to investigate ideas of embedded labour and repetition within her ongoing project ‘Altered States’ Judith continues to work from her home-based studio creating work for exhibitions in Australia and overseas and is committed to encouraging others to evolve their creative capability through the immersive experience with material, offered by clay.
