Alyssa Nuttall

Alyssa Nuttall holds a Bachelor of Clinical Psychology and Music; she brings a thoughtful and people-centred approach to both her creative practice and teaching.
Her journey with clay began as a student at Slow Clay Centre before progressing through the studio’s technician internship pathway and into teaching wheel throwing. What began as a creative diversion grew into a dedicated ceramics practice and career as both an artist and educator.
Raised in Western Australia, Alyssa’s work draws on Australian landscapes and coastal environments to explore themes of ecological change, resilience, and connection to place.
Alyssa is passionate about supporting students to develop both technical skill and creative confidence. Her teaching style is warm, encouraging, and grounded in curiosity, supporting students to build strong foundations while finding their own voice with clay.
