A 2-hour single session introduction to wheel throwing in Collingwood
Be guided step-by-step by an experienced instructor to experience wheel throwing and take home two glazed pieces a few weeks later. No experience required, just show up with a genuine interest in making.
The Slow Clay approach
We’ve been teaching ceramics in Collingwood since 2012. The Taster Class reflects the same approach we bring to everything we do, small groups, experienced teachers, and enough structure that you actually learn something rather than just have a go.
Every session is taught by practicing ceramic artists in the room for up to twelve students. You’ll spend real time at the wheel, get real feedback, and leave with a genuine sense of what wheel throwing involves.
Our Slow Clay wheel technique is a structured method developed and refined over years of teaching beginners to ensure success!
What’s included:
- A structured introduction to wheel throwing using our Slow Clay technique
- Hands-on time at the wheel.
- Small class sizes taught by practicing artists
- Two pieces glazed and kiln-fired for you to collect a few weeks later
- All materials included
What to bring: an old hand towel or apron. Wear comfortable, old clothes and enclosed shoes.
